Contemporary Country Home
The Contemporary Country Home is probably one of those house designs that will have you really try to strike that balance between country and modern. As the name suggests, its a fusion of both.
A country style which incorporates neutral and natural materials can be modernized through the culmination of current trends including geometric, metallics and industrials.
The common characteristic of this style includes simple, clean lines with large windows devoid of decorative trim. The exteriors are a mixture of siding, stucco, stone ,brick and wood.
The roof can be flat or shallow-pitched, often with great overhangs. Many ranch house plans are made with this contemporary aesthetic. Below is the house plan that I worked around to come up with the contemprary country style Sketchup models.
The open floor plan lets you see all the way from the kitchen to the outside deck. Sliding glassdoors open up to the huge wrap-around deck that has plenty of room for a big grill and entertaining.
The master suite is on the main floor and can be expanded to finish the lower level doubling the square footage of the home.
There's room for 3 more bedrooms downstairs with a big bathroom that has two sinks.
A slanted shed roof creates cathedral ceilings in the great room of this contemporary house plan.
Working on this design really made me nostalgic of the countryside. So even though I couldnt be there physically, it definitely was a city meets country experience for me, giving me that idyllic sense of rural living.
